プロデュースはHeavy D & The Boyzのメンバーで、現在自己のアンタッチャブルズ・プロダクションズを率いて活動中のDJ・エディF。~
93年はショーン・パフィ・コムズの尖兵、メアリ・Ｊ・ブライジが完全にヒップホップ ・ソウル界を確立〜制圧した年で、その方法論をコーラス・グループに持ち込んできた、という印象があります。~
(1)や(2)なんかはその典型。~
アーロン・ホール型歌唱のリードのヶニー・グリーンはソングライティングも担当してます。~
注目はスティーヴィー・ワンダーのカヴァー(6)。~
大物中の大物の大名曲を堂々と清々しくカヴァーするその姿に感動しました。~
あと曲中でおねえちゃんがうっふんあっふん喘ぎまくる(8)なんかもナイス。~
アルバム全体のクオリティも高く、見つけたらレジに即持っていってほしい一枚。~

今回(1)〜(5)までが「Intro To Street」、(6)〜(11)までが「Intro To New Life」という二部構成になっております。~
プロデューサーにはデイヴ・ジャム・ホールやロドニー・ジャーキンスといった名前も見えますが、基本的にはメンバーのヶニー・グリーンが全体を取り仕切ってます。~
(1)から前作のテンションを維持したミディアム・ナンバーで満足。~
(3)なんかも気分出てるし。~
そして、(6)から展開されるのは彼らなりのゴスペル・ワールド。~
歌詞見るとゴスペル用語ばっかり。~
今回カヴァーは白人ソウルシンガーのボビー・コールドウェルのヒット作(10)。~
ここらへんが前作に比べて弱いと感じる部分かもしれません。~
前作のスティーヴィーのカヴァーが凄かっただけに。~
いや、全然ダメだというわけじゃないんです。~
前作の「Come Inside」みたいな濃厚なうっふんあっはんソングが消えて真面目一辺倒なゴスペルソングが増えちゃったのが残念だなってだけで（笑）。~
たぶんこれが彼らの本当にやりたかった姿なんだとしても、ね。~
このアルバムの聴き方としては、 (1)〜(5)で前作の彼らを思いだしながら、後半はゴスペル・グループの彼らを感じながら身をまかせるのが一番いいかもしれません。
