ジャネット・ジャクソンは出世作「Control」からリアルタイムで聴いており、「Rhythm Nation 1814」では東京ドームのコンサートにも行ったし（列島はおりしもM.C.ハマー〜ボビー・ブラウン・ブームに沸いておりました）、嫌いじゃありません。~
細い声質を逆手にとった彼女独特のコーラスのつけかたなんかはけっこう個性になってるし、ひょっとすると宇多田ヒカル（の制作ブレーン）あたりなんか影響を受けてるんじゃないかと。~
本作は例のオッパイ騒動でミソをつけたかたちでのリリースでしたが、内容そのものはわりとまっとうでした。~
今回は盟友ジャム＆ルイスの他にもダラス・オースティン、ジャーメイン・デュプリ、ベイビーフェイスをプロデューサーに迎え、インターリュードを重ねつつ進みますが、冒頭の(2)はわりと勢いのあるチューンで気に入りました。~
とはいうものの、アッパーに関してはやはり(11)みたいな前作「All For You」みたいな80年代レトロ・ファンク路線を踏襲したチューンの方があってます。~
スロウはジャム＆ルイス制作の一連のがやはり素晴らしいですが、ベイビーフェイス制作の(14)も悪くない。~
しかしオマケみたいにくっついてる一番つまんない(22)をシングルに持ってくる神経がわからん。~
ダラス・オースティンもボケちまったのかな。~
個人的にはジャネットとジャム＆ルイスががっちり組んだ、精緻かつ大胆な93年の「Janet.」がやはり一番すげえなということで。~
あとCCCDはやめたほうがいいよ。
