70年代には日本人のいろいろなアーティスト達が（大瀧詠一、細野晴臣、久保田麻琴他）こぞってニュー・オーリーンズ・サウンドをとりあげていて、その存在は知ってはいましたが、ホンモノに出会うのはネヴィル・ブラザーズの「イエロー・ムーン」からで、そこでやっとニュー・オーリーンズ音楽に興味を持ち、いろいろ調べていくうちにその起点となるのがプロフェッサー・ロングヘアだということがわかり、CD購入に至りました。~
さすがにニュー・オーリーンズR&Bの元祖的存在、 とぼけたヴォーカルにラテン、ブギ、バレルハウス風味のピアノがからんで独特としか言いようのない雰囲気を作り出しています。~
開放的、というのが一番あたってるかな。~

夏の暑いときにビール片手に屋外で聴くのが一番いいかも。~
いかにも土着音楽という感じがするので、是非一回ニュー・オーリーンズに行ってホンモノを生で聴いてみたいな〜。~
