94年に大爆発したギャングスタ・ラップの立役者、スヌープ・ドギー・ドッグ、そして同年サントラ「Above The Rim」収録の「Regulate」で一気に最前線に躍り出たウォーレン・Ｇとネイト・ドッグが一同に会したヒップホップ版LSGみたいなアルバム。~
この三人はデビュー前にこの名前でグループを組んでたみたいですが、デビューにはいたらず、それぞれのソロ・プロジェクトでヒットを飛ばした経緯があるみたいで、ある意味同窓会的な色合いも濃いみたいです。~
西海岸ヒップホップのエキスが横溢しまくりで、やっぱこういう方がスキだなあ。~
ハービー・ハンコックの「Chamaleon」ネタでヒットしたらしい(6)よりも、ネイト・ドッグのヴォーカルが冴える(7)(10)、エディ・ケンドリックスの「Intimate Friends」ネタでレイドバックしまくりの(8)がスキ。~
ジェシー・パウエルの時にも思ったけど、ファンクはもうヒップホップの手のうちに落ちてるなあと。~
R&Bのプロデューサーでアップ・チューンをかっちり作ってる人見ないもん。~
個人的にはティンバランドあたりからはじまった「ゆったりやってるように見せかけてウラじゃ32ビートとかでせわしなくやってる」ワザがイケナイ気がしとります。~
もう一度、R&Bとヒップホップ、ファンクのすり合わせができる人材とか出てこないかなあ。~
歌モノのアップ・チューンでイイのが聴きたい。~

あ、このアルバムは西海岸モノがお好きなら間違いなし、すぐ買って消費しちゃいましょう。~
